The desk can be honest and the chair still wrecks the room. In a small bedroom the seat has to tuck at night so the space reads as sleep, and it has to leave a path to the bed. This page is furniture fit — not a medical ergonomics clinic, not a posture diagnosis, and not a star rating.

Measure first
- Chair width and whether arms pass under the desk apron.
- Rollback to the bed, wardrobe, or door.
- Tuck: can the seat hide fully so the room is a bedroom at 22:00?
Casters vs felt glides: landlord wood vs a rug is household caution (scuffs, noise), not a brand test.
Format fork
Dining chair you already own if rollback is under ~23.6 in (60 cm) and desk hours are laptop-only blocks. It tucks. It is not a day-long task chair — if hours grow, the desk strategy may be wrong, not the lumbar pillow.
